Lingual Orthodontics Incognito®

The most imperceptible esthetic orthodontic system.

Lingual orthodontics consists of fixed appliances that are placed on the inside of the tooth, i.e., brackets that are fixed behind the teeth. With this system you gain in aesthetics, since they are less visible than conventional brackets. Among its advantages are:
  • Being on the inner side of the tooth, the tongue facilitates cleaning when eating.
  • Virtually the same results are achieved as with conventional orthodontics.
  • By not wearing brackets on the external side of the tooth, unsightly decalcifications are avoided.
  • It is a system focused on patients who need a plus of esthetics, since it is the most invisible of all orthodontic systems.
One of the biggest concerns for patients who wear braces is how to brush their teeth with braces in their mouth. It is important to mention that although orthodontic brushing requires a little more dedication, it is not an excessively tiring habit. Recommended brushing should include electric toothbrush and interdental brushes, as well as periodic mouth rinses and periodontal gum maintenance, sometimes every 2 months until the end of treatment. Lack of proper hygiene can lead to tooth decay or bone loss around the teeth.

Before and after treatment

A 51-year-old patient comes to our center with aged, dark teeth and dental malposition with tooth crowding. The patient requests to improve the appearance of his smile, so we propose an orthodontic treatment with invisalign to correct the position of his teeth, teeth whitening to gain luminosity and porcelain dental veneers. The treatment lasted 6 months and 9 appointments were necessary.
