Crowding of the teeth
Crowding of the teeth is one of the most frequent reasons for consultation for orthodontic treatment. Patients report not being comfortable with the aesthetics of their smile and not being able to chew effectively. Crowding also facilitates the appearance of caries and gum diseases such as periodontitis, since dental cleaning is difficult.
Through the use of new techniques and increasingly comfortable and esthetic appliances, we can align teeth in a reasonable period of time (12-24 months) with painless and short (15 minutes) monthly appointments. The use of ceramic brackets, aligners and lingual brackets has "universalized" the application of orthodontics in the adult population to such an extent that 40% of orthodontic patients are over 20 years of age.
Before and after dental crowding treatment
A 44-year-old patient who went to the orthodontist because she was not comfortable with her dental crowding and had difficulties brushing her teeth properly. After a thorough study of his malocclusion, treatment was planned using Invisalign aligners (removable transparent splints), which aligned the teeth in 18 months of treatment.
