The appearance of gaps between teeth is caused by various reasons such as gum loss due to periodontitis (gum disease known as “pyorrhea”) or the migration of dental pieces. These spaces reveal the dark background of the mouth and lead to aesthetic alteration of the smile.
The aesthetic problem can be solved either by an orthodontic treatment that brings teeth closer to each other or with the use of veneers attached to a tooth to hide the dark interdental gaps.
